Anyone have any recommendations for things to do in Dublin? Exhibitions, museums, etc. Preferably free.

Planning a visit to the Francis Bacon and Edvard Munch exhibitions and will probably visit IMMA, James Joyce Centre and the Dublin Writers Museum too.

I recommend Trinity College. They have some lovely architecture there.

http://lecool.com/cities/dublin/newsletters/current.html

Le Cool is a weekly online newsletter thing that can keep you up to date with stuff that's not there forever.

IMMA is great but imo it depends what's on at the time, because there can be some fierce boring stuff on display by virtue of the fact that it's "modern" (i.e. 20th century), even if it's just a painting of a racehorse.

I never think to check Le Cool. I was supposed to write something for them once but wires got crossed and it didn't happen.

only thing worth doing in dublin is sitting in a pub and drinking pints of guiness until you get into an argument with someone over something you don't even care or know a lot about
